George loves apple butter. I made this recipe over the weekend using organic Granny Smith apples and leaving out sweetener. I used the cinnamon, ginger and nutmet exactly as directed and cooked it in our Instant Pot set on the slow cooker setting. It turned out well. The color wasn’t as brown as store bought but the flavor was good. I think it actually tastes better as you don’t pick up on oversweetened corn syrup flavors.
The downside is that the recipe makes more than a quart and it only lasts about two weeks. This is a recipe meant to share!
