5 minute artisan bread

Meghan made some amazing pizza one night and we asked about her recipe. She sent us to the 5 minute artisan bread recipe and we’ve been making it ever since. We try to keep dough in the fridge so we can make a loaf of bread or a pizza without waiting.

Master basic dough recipe
5 minute artisan bread basic master recipe
(Artisan Free-Form Loaf)
Makes 4 1-pound loaves

Ingredients

  • 3 cups lukewarm water
  • 1 1⁄2 tbsp granulated yeast (1 1⁄2 packets)
  • 1 1⁄2 tbsp coarse kosher or sea salt
  • 6 1⁄2 cups unsifted, unbleached, all-purpose white flour
  • Cornmeal for pizza peel

Notes: We buy yeast in bulk from Costco (it’s in the spice section) for a fraction of the cost.
